Pre-apprenticeship programs are designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in a Registered Apprenticeship and ultimately a
career.
Beginning in the fall of 2020, the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship (AOA) will offer certification of pre-apprenticeship programs. This certification process has three goals.
-
Establish, enhance, and formalize connections between work-based learning and training programs with sponsors of registered apprenticeships.
-
Provide an assurance to employers and apprenticeship sponsors the training is high-quality.
-
Ensure participants the training, experience, and certifications earned will be creditable toward completion of a registered apprenticeship.
